With a dedicated surgical suite and a highly experienced team, we provide top-notch care before, during, and after your pet's procedure. Our top priority is the safety and comfort of each of our patients.
Prior to surgery, we perform a physical examination and pre-anesthetic lab work on each patient to assess your pet's overall health and ensure that he/she is a good anesthetic candidate. Each pet recieves fluid therapy intraoperatively through an intravenous catheter and anesthetic montioring and support by our team of experienced veterinary technicians and assistants. Your pet is carefully monitored and kept comfortable in our recovery ward following surgery, and when you arrive to pick up, a veterinary technician will go over detailed instructions for your pet's care at home. In the days following surgery, we will contact you to ensure your pet is making a full recovery.
With every surgical procedure, we provide the option for microchip placement and a pre-anesthetic echocardiogram (ECG). The ECG recording illustrates the electrical signals from the heart, and your pet's ECG is examined by both our veterinarians and a board-certified veterinary cardiologist prior to your pet's surgery to identify otherwise undetectable arrhythmias that may pose a risk for anesthesia.

Montpelier Veterinary Hospital is pleased to offer cryosurgery services. Cryosurgery is a minimally invasive surgical technique using extremely cold temperatures to freeze and destroy abnormal tissues, particularly tumors of the skin. These procedures typically take 5 -10 minutes in the office. Not all tumors are amenable to cryosurgery, but if you think this may be an option you would like to pursue with your pet, please let us know!
